Next Make Meeting suggestion

I was curious if anyone out there would be willing to give a small demonstration on how to solder (and de-solder) at our next make meeting? I've never done this before and although I know it's fairly easy, and I'm sure there are books on the subject, I think seeing someone doing it first hand would be the best way to learn. I bought a small electronic kit to learn this on, but have hesitated on putting it together for fear of messing it up. Just a thought. Maybe there should be a part of the meeting for beginners in things like "electronics"? I come from an art background and would LOVE to learn more about makeing some small electronic gadgets. I'm interested right now in the BEAM bots that was featured in the last issue of MAKE.

This is a great idea. Consider it done. Next meeting we'll have a presentation on BEAM robotics and soldering... it'll be BYO-Soldering Iron. ha. we'll also have the maker challenge focus on making a BEAM robot.

ps. if anyone is interested in putting together a presentation on BEAM robotics, just give a hollar.
