Best way to bond glass & metal?

Other than hot glue, anyone have any recommendations on the best way to bond glass and metal?

If you are looking for a structural bond then epoxy is probably the best bet. You might want to consider a mechanical joint if it is just a flat piece of glass. You can get glass drills in a variety of sizes and just use a screw or bolt with hard rubber washers.
If you are looking to make an electrode then you might want to plate it on the glass. The easiest way to to tackle that is painting on the glass with conductive paint and then having it electroplated.
